D23 Expo Coming to Japan

By D.Z.
Just yesterday, D23 announced that the ultimate Disney fan event is coming to Japan! The D23 Expo is about to have its third expo in Anaheim in August. A few months later from October 12-14, the convention will be in Japan. I think it is really cool that the convention is going international.

“We are thrilled to host this extraordinary, three-day event where all the wonderful worlds of Disney come together,” said the president of the Walt Disney Company Japan, Paul Candland. “2013 marks The Walt Disney Company’s 90th anniversary, Disney Channel’s 10th, Disney Mobile’s fifth, the Disney-JCB Card’s fifth, Dlife’s first, and Tokyo Disney Resort’s 30th! The D23 Expo Japan allows us to show Disney’s tremendous appreciation to its fans.”

As you can tell, this three day convention is going to be a blast. Ticket information will be released in March!

Just last Saturday, the Kissing Statue had its official unveiling. The original statue left the U.S.S. Midway back in May 2012! This new statue is much like its original. If you are ever in San Diego, be sure to stop by. The statue is of a solider and nurse kissing in Time Square after the ending of

Pirate Filming?????

Photo by the Maritime Museum of San Diego facebook page!
Just yesterday, the Maritime Museum of San Diego took this picture and posted it on facebook! The caption was "Early morning filming on the HMS Surprise. I wonder what it's for..."

We all wonder too. Pirates of the Caribbean 5 comes out July 2015, so it might be a little early. The HMS Surprise was used in Pirates of the Caribbean 4! The only thing that makes me doubt it was the ship is still docked. If it was used in a movie, probably it would be out setting sail.

Who knows, it could just be a commercial. For more information on the Maritime Museum of San Diego, visit http://www.sdmaritime.org/!

The images inside the castle look stunning.

Super Bowl XXXVII- San Diego

By D.Z.
As you know, Sunday is Super Bowl. The Ravens against the 49ers! Recently in November, we were able to go visit a former Super Bowl stadium. We went for the 2012 San Diego Color Run.

San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium was home to the Super Bowl XXXVII on January 26, 2003! The game was the Oakland Raiders, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The halftime show featured Shania Twain, No Doubt, and Sting! The halftime show video is shown above.

After a long game, the Buccaneers took home the prize. The score was:

Oakland Raiders: 21
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 48

Video of the Week: 1

YouTube is home to lots of great videos. In this new segment, we will be sharing what we think was the best online video! The video either deals with theme parks or movies.  The first winner of 'Video of the Week' is Taylor Swift becoming Rapunzel.
