Whaley House Review

By D.Z. "Theme Park Specialist"
Located in Old Town, San Diego, the Whaley House is known as "America's Most Haunted." It all started when businessman Thomas Whaley purchased the lot back in the 1800's. The house is home to a small general store, San Diego's second courthouse and the first commercial theater in San Diego. Since the middle 1900's, the Whaley House has been open to the public as a museum.

Many visit in hopes to see a ghost. Ghosts believed to live here include: "Yankee Jim" Robinson, Thomas Whaley, Anna Whaley, Annabel or Carrie Washburn (possible legend), and Dolly Varden (Whaley's terrier).

On my visit, I did not see any spirits. The only thing suspicious was in the beginning, when I felt something behind me. It was really cool visiting the Whaley House. I recommend a visit to both believers and non-believers. www.whaleyhouse.org
