That Batman made his First Appearance in 1939
He was in Detective Comics #27 inspired by Sherlock Holmes and Da Vinci's sketch of Zorro, a flying bat-machine created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. (He was first drawn wearing a Zorro like contraption on his back.)
